Dr. Drury is Vice Chair of Research in Pediatrics and the Associate Director of the Tulane Brain Institute. She holds the Remigio Gonzalez MD, Professor of Child Psychiatry and directs the Behavioral and Neurodevelopmental Genetic Laboratory. She completed her MD and PhD in Genetics and Biometry from Louisiana State University and her general and child and adolescent psychiatry training at Tulane University. Her research focuses on defining the mechanisms underlying risk and resilience in young children exposed to maternal life course stress and direct early life adversity. She explores epigenetic, genetic and neurophysiologic pathways in an effort to better understand how early life adversity is biologically embedded and at what developmental time periods are interventions likely to be most effective. Her research has been diversely funded including support from the NIH, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, SAMSHA, NARSAD and the Russel Sage Foundation.
