Kamila Mistry, PhD MPH
Senior Advisor for Child Health and Quality Improvement and Director, Division of Priority Populations Research, Agency for Healthcare Research & Quality
Dr. Mistry is the Senior Advisor for Child Health and Quality Improvement and the Director, Division of Priority Populations Research at the Agency for Healthcare Research & Quality (AHRQ). In these roles, Dr. Mistry leads a number of national initiatives focused on improving quality of care and reducing health disparities for mothers and children including the Pediatric Quality Measures Program and AHRQ’s Perinatal Safety Program. Prior to coming to AHRQ, she served as the Program Director for the Healthy Steps for Young Children National Evaluation at Johns Hopkins which focused examining innovative practice-based models for improving quality of care and child outcomes. Formerly, she has also led a number of child health initiatives at the state and local levels. At the Texas Department of Health, Dr. Mistry led programs targeting maternal and child health, including designing and implementing the CDC Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System for the state and Medicaid waiver development. Dr. Mistry completed her NRSA post-doctoral fellowship at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Department of General Pediatrics in Family Health Services Research. She received a PhD in Child and Adolescent Health and Development and MPH in Health Policy from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. In addition to her role at AHRQ, Dr. Mistry is a Part-Time Assistant Professor at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Department of General Pediatrics where she mentors post-doctoral fellows and conducts research.« Back
